Evacuation Planning Zones
In the following video, Health Physics Society member Kathryn Higley responds to questions regarding the evacuation planning zones (EPZ) and the role they play in protecting the public. Dr. Higley also discusses the balance that must be struck between the size of the EPZ and the risks associated with an evacuation.
Dr. Higley is currently at Oregon State University, Department of Nuclear Engineering. She is the former reactor supervisor for the Reed College TRIGA reactor.
